Mothers Are The Gardners 2

Mothers!

Just recently I was introduced to a new book written by Joanna Gaines and her kids.  It is titled, “WE ARE THE GARDENERS.” It is one of those children’s books that makes you think about life and treasure it.  This is included in their introduction of the book:

“Some say that a garden just grows from seeds, but we think it grows from trying and failing and trying again.  A garden is hard work, but so is most of the good, important stuff in life.”

Their story started off with one small potted fern.  They said that all of them one by one watered it and as a result it died because it was loved to death. After reading and studying they decided to graduate to outdoor gardening.

They said, “It’s pretty amazing that with good soil and a good foundation even not being able to see this whole hidden world of life under our feet, that miracles can burst out of the ground.  These everyday miracles of seeds have everything they will grow up to be already hidden inside of them!”

“WE ARE THE GARDENERS.  “

We have the great blessing of watching miracles grow.  We wonder often as Mothers whether our so called plants need more sun, water, better soil and so we experiment a lot.  I guess we do our best and that is what matters!

The book ends this way,

“We still keep a little fern on the piano to remind us of our small beginnings.  Every time we water it, we’re reminded not to give up when things don’t work out the first time.

You, as a Gardener, make all the difference!  Plant, nourish, work and, most importantly, pray.

Much love to you all!

    Dear sweet Diane,
Thank you for this meaningful article! Yes, how true it is that if we patiently and lovingly teach, train, and love our children, all the while prayerfully striving to improve and become what we want our children to become, they will serendipitously turn out to be better than we expected! Because the Lord keeps his promises and will magnify his wonders in their lives way beyond our imperfect efforts. In our twilight years, we will be able to look back and see how Motherhood did Bloom after all, thanks to the Lord!
Love you and all the fine mothers we get to know and serve together with in American Mothers!
