Jace and Jennifer Jergensen

Jace and Jennifer Jergensen live in the Salt Lake City area. They recently moved from Providence, Utah (which they LOVED and miss!!) Jace grew up in Idaho. Jennifer grew up in California. They met while they were attending Brigham Young University.

Jace graduated with an MBA from BYU.  Jennifer graduated with a degree in English and a minor in Journalism.

Jace has worked in the field of Marketing.  He began his career with Black and Decker in Towson, Maryland.  After a year, they moved their young family to Singapore to work in the Asia Pacific Division.  Since then they have moved several times ending up in Providence, Utah. He has spent most of his career at ICON Health and Fitness in Cache Valley and Dallas, Texas.  He retired from ICON when they left to serve a three-year full time mission in Taiwan.

Jace served as a Mission President over the missionaries serving in the Taiwan Taipei mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  This was a great opportunity for their family, especially their twin boys who accompanied them, to fall in love with the Chinese people, culture, and language.

Jace loves to cook breakfast for all their family.  He has several “specialties” including crepes, waffles, hash browns, and welsh rarebit.  He has very deservingly earned the title, “Breakfast Boss” in their family!

Jennifer has worked in Journalism as a writer for a technical magazine and a freelancer.  Once their children were born, Jennifer decided to be at home full time.  She has had the opportunity to be a speaker in the Especially for Youth program through BYU during many summers.

They are the proud parents of six children, four of whom are married. Both twin boys are currently serving missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  They have 8 grandchildren: seven granddaughters and one grandson. Their very favorite thing to do is anything with their children or grandchildren. Their favorite place to be is out on a lake with the whole family.

Here are a couple cute stories to help you get to know the Jergensens better:

After leaving the young kids with Jace during one EFY session in Idaho, Jennifer ended up having to comfort the children who “accidentally” had the life altering experience of watching a cow being slaughtered.  Jace had been reliving his childhood in St. Anthony, by taking the kids to the fair grounds.  When a mobile butcher drove up, he thought it would be an educational experience.  The butcher was so quick, that Jace couldn’t get the kids out of the fair grounds fast enough.  Although the kids were told not to tell their mother, their first words were “Mom, Dad made us watch a cow die!”  To this day, they consider that one of the most traumatic moments of their childhood!

Jennifer’s favorite moments include the busy, chaotic, and sometimes monotonous experiences of being a mom.  Shortly after the twins were born, she decided to start a new tradition of curling the girls hair, painting nails, etc just before going to bed.  They called it “Beautician.”  One day, one of their neighbors curiously asked about this tradition.  Jennifer explained it to her.  The neighbor was relieved, as Madison, their 5 year old had told her that each night, she and her sister and mom practiced, “Mortician!”

Mat and Savannah Shaw

Mat and Savanna Shaw are a daddy-daughter duo from Utah that rose to prominence during the COVID-19 quarantine. Savanna, eager to keep in touch with her music friends, started a music social media account. Normally a shy and private teenager, she was nervous to sing her first song by herself, so she asked her dad to join her in singing “The Prayer.”

After that video went viral, Mat and Savanna continued releasing duets on social media and streaming platforms, with singles charting in both the US and UK. They quickly garnered a worldwide following resulting in over a half million YouTube subscribers. In October of 2020, their first album “Picture This” debuted at #1 on the iTunes Pop Chart. They have since taken the #1 spot on multiple Billboard music charts. Kelly Clarkson called them “incredibly gifted” and Good Morning America said, “this father-daughter duo’s music is bringing hope.”

Savanna played the harp for 6 years before deciding to focus on her voice. She has always loved singing, humming tunes nonstop around the house–though her shyness kept even some of her closest friends unaware of her talents until her videos went viral. Mat also grew up singing. He sang in High School and College but set aside his performing aspirations to start his real estate career and his family. Both are so grateful that through each other, they have found their voices.

Mat and Savanna’s uplifting song choices and harmonies have inspired people the world over. They have a passion for using music for good – often supporting charities, good causes, and providing inspiration with their performances. Their goal is to share hope and spread joy through music.
