National Mother of the Year

Judy Cook of Vineyard, Utah has been named the 2013 National Mother of the Year by American Mothers during the National Convention at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York City on April 27th.

One of the parenting philosophies that Judy believes is, "Rules and guidelines are necessary in order to raise responsible, self-governing children who will be contributing members of society."

Growing up, Judy learned the importance of family, church, and education. She graduated with a B.A. and later earned a Master's Degree in Child Development from San Diego State University.

Judy has been married to her husband Fred for fifty-one years.... More About Judy

2013 Utah Young Mother

Michelle Lehnardt never considered motherhood while growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah. But a strong spiritual prompting as a teenager led her to focus her goals and skills toward building a family. In her senior year at BYU she met and married, Erik Lehnardt, and bore their son nine months after graduating as valedictorian. Aware of her own inexperience, Michelle searched for role models among her neighbors and church acquaintances. Michelle turns to prayer for guidance on raising her five sons and little daughter.

One of Michelle's philosophies is: "My children are fueled by hugs and kisses and lots of praise.  The world will be unkind to every one of us; home should be a haven of love and acceptance....More About Michelle
