Debora Fletcher, Highland

Debora Ruano Fletcher (married to Russell Grant Fletcher) is the mother of 10 (eight boys, two girls) and grandmother of one. Born in Guatemala, Debora came to the United States to go to college. While raising her children she has fed her passion for learning by formal study (continuous college-level classes for more than 20 years) as well as numerous books, seminars, and clubs on wide-ranging topics from gardening to psychology to the plight of refugees.  Her penchant for service has driven her to bring a Child Help chapter to Utah (to provide assistance to children of abuse), lead the World Languages Committee at her children’s school (to bring cultural experiences to Utah children), and more recently to Co-found and lead Sustainable Families, a nonprofit organization that lobbies the United Nations and its subgroups around the world (to remind the world that the family is the most powerful engine for societal change).
