Steve James is a highly skilled and experienced Creative Consultant and Producer, with expertise in creating, planning and producing events, conferences, festivals, concerts, programs and music videos. Steve has produced shows across the nation from Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe to St. Louis, Detroit, Salt Lake and Atlanta for such events as the US Conference of Mayors Convention, The International Gathering for the World Policy Center, the National Community Service/Points of Light Conference, the National Governor’s Association Conference and numerous Governor’s Galas. Internationally, he has worked in Japan, Switzerland, Canada and Central America. He also has assisted such non-profit organizations as The Kennedy Center’s Community of Caring, Corporation for National and Community Service, National Green Circle, National 4-H, Boy Scouts of America, National After-School Alliance, US Special Olympics and Federation For Youth, etc.
An award-winning and versatile Songwriter and Music Producer, Steve has recorded hundreds of his original songs in studios from Nashville to Hollywood. He is known for his unique ability to write in any style or genre. Steve has composed numerous commercial jingles and theme songs for organizations, government and corporate groups and events. He is nationally known for his children’s music series “Something Good for Kids” Volumes 1, 2 and 3 that received the prestigious “National Parenting Center Seal of Approval”. This popular series is part of the Utah State Office of Education curriculum, Prevention Dimensions, recognized by the US Dept of Health and Human Services as one of the nation’s “Exemplary Programs”. Some of his latest original recording projects include the soundtrack from his original stage production, “Return to Christmas”, the patriotic tribute, “America, Our Home” and his national music- media campaign, “Always a Friend, Never a Bully”.
A sought-after Professional Entertainer, Steve has performed for millions throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan and Central America. He is frequently joined by his talented wife, Lisa, who critics say literally has “the voice of an angel”. Known for their extraordinary vocal abilities, comedy routines and Steve’s skills on the piano, they have appeared throughout the U.S. and beyond. On many occasions, Steve and Lisa also welcome to the stage their four multi-talented children, who are currently filming music videos with Steve as Executive Producer.
Steve specializes in brand development for organizations and corporations. He is CEO of Something Good Inc., Steve James Productions and currently serves as the Executive Director for the First Lady of Utah’s Initiative, “Uplift Families”. Co-founder of Utah’s Days of `47 Youth Festival, Steve served for many years on the Days of `47 Board of Directors and Executive Board over Public Affairs. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the national arts foundation, Vision Workz, as well as the Salt Lake Pops Orchestra.
